Kids Birthday Party Ideas

These pictures were taken at my niece's 5th "flower" birthday party.
For a fun activity, the girls painted flower pots and later planted flower in the pot. The table was covered in butcher paper so the girls could have their paint easily accessible.

Flower headbands were made using a fake flowers and a hot glue gun.

The "flower cake" was made using cupcakes with pink and green frosting.

For my nephew's 2nd birthday ideas were based off of the book "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carl.

In the book, the caterpillar ate his way through the week, and those foods were displayed on the table.

His "caterpillar" cake was made using green frosting and a lot of cupcakes!

The butterflies were made by using watercolor paints on tissue paper and scrunching the middle with pipe cleaners. They were hung from the ceiling using clear fishing wire.

Some other fun party themes:

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Set up a chocolate fountain and a variety of sweets.
The kids can decorate their own cupcake and watch the movie!
Minute to Win it game day
Set up quick games just like the TV show! Give the kids a minute for each activity.
Some games include unrolling a roll of toilet paper on a broomstick, standing on a chair and dropping as many clothespins as you can into a mason jar, or throwing quarters or other small items into a bucket 15 feet away. The games can be simple and easy to win, but make sure you do it in a minute!
Super Hero party
The kids can dress up in costumes, make up their own superheroes and create their own               comic books, and have fun fighting crime!
Movie Night
The kids can come dressed as a character from their favorite movie. You could have a theme with your movies, such as all Harry Potter films or movies based off of books. It's a pretty laid back party- just plug in  a movie and pass around the snacks!
